(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) arrested a man after a late-night chase on North Academy Boulevard and Woodmen Road.
A little after midnight on Wednesday, Oct. 8, CSPD officers were sent to the 8100 Block of North Academy on a report of a man, now identified as 40-year-old Ernesto Garcia, apparently passed out in his car. American Medical Response (AMR) arrived on the scene to offer medical support, but the man left the area in his car.
According to the official CSPD report, officers saw the car driving southbound on North Academy and caught up to Garcia on Woodmen Road. Officers attempted a stop, but Garcia sped away and crashed into another vehicle at I-25 and Woodmen.
CSPD reports that Garcia tried to run from the crash on foot, but was caught by officers at the scene.
