CSPD: Man arrested for stealing Cybertruck valued at 81K

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) arrested a man who stole a Tesla Cybertruck on Monday, June 9.

At around 1 p.m. on Monday, the Colorado Springs Police Department Communications Center received a call in the 300 block of E. St. Elmo Avenue, near South Nevada Street, regarding a stolen 2025 Tesla Cybertruck. A Direct Line Reporting Officer initiated the report by phone.

The stolen Tesla was later located in the 8000 block of North Academy, off I-25 and near Voyager Parkway, occupied by a suspect. As he walked away from the stolen Tesla, police attempted to make contact, and the man, identified as Glenn Montoya, was taken into custody.

The Cybertruck was valued at $81,000, according to police. Montoya was taken to the hospital for minor injuries sustained during his arrest prior to being booked into jail.
