CSPD: Man threatened ex with gun, found passed out in car

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) reported that on Wednesday, Aug. 14, the Public Safety Communications Center received a 911 call from a woman saying her ex was at her home in the area of 3300 North Hancock Avenue, near Portal Park, threatening her with a handgun. Officers later found him passed out in a car.

According to CSPD, the call came in around 8:30 a.m., and the first officers on the scene from the Specialized Enforcement Unit located the suspect passed out inside a vehicle at the front of the home. Officers learned that in addition to being armed, he also allegedly had a felony warrant.

CSPD said that once an adequate amount of officers and equipment were on scene to proceed safely, orders were given to the suspect to exit the vehicle. He complied and was detained without incident.
