CSPD: One arrested after threatening employees at knifepoint

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) arrested a man after he allegedly pulled a knife on two store employees.

Just before 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12, officers with CSPD’s Falcon Division were sent to a business in the 2200 Block of North Wahsatch Avenue, just off of CanAm Highway, on reports of two men fighting another armed with a knife.

According to the official CSPD report, when CSPD arrived, they were able to determine that the man, now identified as 22-year-old Curtis Singleton, was approached by the store’s loss prevention team when he then proceeded to pull a knife on them.

The employees were eventually able to disarm and detain Singleton after they struggled with him for several minutes. Once law enforcement arrived, they arrested Singleton for Aggravated Robbery.

CSPD also reported that Singleton had an outstanding warrant for robbery at the time of arrest.
