(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said the victim in a crash on the northbound on-ramp to I-25 on Wednesday, Sept. 10, has been identified as 31-year-old Anthony Dutchak.
According to CSPD, on Wednesday, just before 6 a.m., officers were called to the MLK bypass at I-25. When police arrived, they found Dutchak dead on the northbound on-ramp to I-25. CSPD said the initial investigation determined Dutchak was hit at least once by a passing vehicle.
On Thursday, Sept. 11, the El Paso County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy and identified Dutchak as the victim of the crash.
CSPD’s Major Crash Team responded to the scene and took over the investigation. As of Friday, Sept. 19, the investigation was ongoing, but police said impairment did not appear to be a factor in the crash.
CSPD said this was the 42nd traffic fatality in Colorado Springs in 2025. At the same time in 2024, there were 39 traffic fatalities.
