CSPD: Shots fired after altercation between vehicles

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — An altercation between two vehicles was the cause of shots being fired in the early morning hours of Monday, June 10, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).

Police said on Monday at around 1:45 a.m. officers were called to a report of gunfire in the 8700 block of North Union Boulevard near Research Parkway. Witnesses told officers about an altercation that happened between the occupants of two vehicles, a gray truck, and a light-colored sedan.

According to CSPD, the driver of the truck fired a gun as both vehicles left the area, and witnesses were not sure if the shots were fired at the sedan or aimlessly into the air. Police have recovered shell casings but found no victims or damaged property during the investigation.
