(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) has released information about a stolen truck investigation that resulted in two arrests.
On Sept. 1, CSPD began looking into a stolen white 2001 Dodge 2500 Ram pickup, originally reported stolen from the 200 block of 12th Street, near Old Colorado City.
On Wednesday, Sept. 10, officers tried to pull the truck over, but the suspect quickly drove away.
Detectives with CSPD’s Motor Vehicle Theft Unit (MVT) began tracking the truck and saw it pull into an alley near East Saint Vrain and Tijuana Streets.
Teaming up with the department’s Tactical Enforcement Unit, MVT detectives were able to block the truck and arrest the driver, identified as 59-year-old John Rosa, for Motor Vehicle Theft.
Upon arrest, police found Rosa had an outstanding felony arrest warrant for the Introduction of Dangerous Drugs into a Detention Facility and for Second-Degree Assault on a Peace Officer While in Custody. Rosa’s history also revealed that he has been convicted of multiple motor vehicle thefts in several states, according to CSPD.
CSPD also arrested Rosa’s passenger, 42-year-old Twila Green, for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.
