(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) reported that on Friday, May 9, an officer found a suspect vehicle that was connected to an earlier shooting, and after surveillance, officers arrested a man who had a felony amount of drugs and a loaded rifle in his possession.
According to CSPD, around 7:30 p.m. on Friday, a K9 officer found the suspect vehicle in the 3600 block of Rebecca Lane, near North Academy Boulevard and North Carefree Circle. The vehicle was involved in a shooting that took place in the 3600 block of Parkmoor Village, about one block south of Rebecca Lane, on Thursday, May 8.
CSPD reported that after a short surveillance, the officer and two detectives took the suspect, identified as 27-year-old Brandon Jones, into custody. Jones was found to have a felony amount of methamphetamine and a loaded long 5.56 rifle. Officers verified that the rifle matched the one used in the shooting.
Jones was taken to the Criminal Justice Center for warrants of felony assault, felony menacing, and felony possession of methamphetamine.
