CSPD: Suspects arrested after running from stolen car

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) reported that detectives located a stolen vehicle near Chelton Road and East Fountain Boulevard. After police followed the vehicle and attempted to pull it over, the two suspects ran from the car but were later arrested, and a significant amount of drugs were also found on Friday, July 18.

According to CSPD, around 4 p.m. on Friday, detectives identified the stolen Nissan Altima and the two people in the car as 38-year-old Jordan Edgar and 40-year-old Joshua Williamson. CSPD said they followed the suspects in a marked police cruiser and attempted a traffic stop near Jet Wing Drive and Hancock Expressway. The suspects evaded the police and abandoned the car in the middle of the roadway and ran off in the 3900 block of Astrozon Boulevard, near South Academy Boulevard.

CSPD reported that detectives found the men running nearby and placed them in custody. Detectives said they also found a large amount of illegal drugs in Williamson’s possession.

Williamson is facing several charges, including Motor Vehicle Theft, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance, and Obstruction. Edgar is facing charges including Motor Vehicle Theft, Felony Vehicular Eluding, and Obstruction.
