(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) reported that on Friday, May 9, a multi-agency law enforcement operation led to the arrest of three people following an investigation into widespread burglaries at construction sites.
CSPD reported that the investigation revealed a burglary pattern by an organized criminal group that targeted construction sites and newly built homes to steal appliances, tools, and construction supplies. The investigation included more than 50 cases throughout El Paso County and beyond, including Colorado Springs, Lone Tree, Castle Pines, Parker, Castle Rock, Monument, Fountain, and Pueblo.
According to CSPD, around 8 a.m. on Friday, detectives from the Metro Burglary Unit, investigators from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, and the Monument Police Department carried out search warrants in the homes of several suspects in the 2500 block of Swale Run, near South Powers Boulevard and Astrozon Boulevard, and the 3200 block of Foxridge Drive, near Hancock Expressway and South Academy Boulevard.
CSPD reported that law enforcement recovered a large amount of property at the locations, including 6 appliances, several computers and other electronics, and hundreds of tools stolen from victims across the Front Range. Three people were arrested and identified as Neybin Arias Rivas, Oscar Lobo Castillo, and Darwin Salas Rodriguez.
