(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) made three arrests after a group of minors allegedly stole and crashed a car in Colorado Springs.
Just after 4 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23, CSPD officers were called to a reported robbery and assault in the 700 block of North Academy Boulevard. When police arrived, they discovered that the victim had been robbed and assaulted by several suspects.
Shortly after, officers found the suspects, but did not pursue when they took off in the stolen car.
A brief time later, the stolen car was found crashed and abandoned, prompting CSPD to search the area with a drone and K9 assistance. The search resulted in the location of three suspects, all of whom were arrested for several charges.
According to CSPD, all three were also suspects in a Burglary to a Motor Vehicle in the department’s Gold Hill Division before this robbery. The investigation is ongoing.
