Cyclist found dead in creek along Sinton trail

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) responded to the west side on Monday morning, Aug. 21, and found a person dead in a creek after good Samaritans had tried to help.

According to CSPD, two 911 calls were received reporting a person found in Douglas Creek along Sinton Trail, near Mark Dabling Boulevard, just before 11:30 a.m. on Monday. CSPD said good Samaritans had stopped to help a cyclist before calling 911.

The Colorado Springs Fire Department and American Medical Response both responded to the scene and found the person had died.

It is unclear how the person came to be in the creek, however, CSPD said the El Paso County Coroner’s Office responded to conduct an investigation.
