(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The 4th Judicial District Attorney’s (DA) Office has finished its review of a complaint filed against GOP Congressional Candidate Dave Williams in March, which alleged Williams abused his role as Chairman of the Colorado Republican Party by withholding information from other candidates.
The complaint submitted via an affidavit to the DA’s office alleged that Williams used his position as head of the Colorado GOP to withhold a list of delegates from other candidates in the race for Colorado’s District 5.
In a press release sent out on Friday, May 31, the DA’s Office said the investigation “did not uncover sufficient evidence to support the allegation and no criminal charges will be filed.”
The DA’s Office said its investigation focused on the allegations concerning abuse of Williams’ position as party chair. Separate allegations that Williams redirected funds from the Colorado Republican Party to pay for his campaign were not addressed by the 4th Judicial DA, and have been passed on to the Federal Election Commission (FEC).
