(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — The El Paso Sherriff’s Office (EPSO) said it is investigating a death after responding to a welfare check in Security-Widefield on Thursday, May 16.

According to EPSO, deputies responded just after 9 a.m. for a welfare check in the 500 block of Cottonwood Drive, just east of Main Street in Security-Widefield. EPSO said detectives responded to conduct a death investigation, though few other details were released. There is no threat to the community, EPSO said.

EPSO said it would provide more information when it becomes available.
