DENVER (KDVR) — The University of Colorado Buffaloes suffered their first loss of the 2024-25 season against their old rival, the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
It was a disappointing game for the Buffs as the Huskers sacked quarterback Shedeur Sanders five times. CU didn’t record a first down until their fifth possession, netted minus-2 yards in the first quarter and finished with just 260.
Ultimately, CU walked away with their first loss in a 28-10 final game.
Aside from the tough away game, coach Deion Sanders’ son Shilo had to have surgery after sustaining an arm injury in Saturday’s game.
Deion posted pictures of his son on social media Monday, including one with Shilo in a wheelchair and another with his arm in a cast as he recovered in a hospital bed. Deion wrote: “God is Good! Can’t wait to see u back ready to go. Love ya son!”
There’s no timetable for his return.
The Buffs now have their eyes set on defeating a local team. The next game will be the Rocky Mountain Showdown against Colorado State University on Saturday. The in-state rivalry will return to Fort Collins for the first time since 1996.
