“I learned early on what it means to be a patriot & put country over party. That’s not what we’re seeing in DC today,” wrote Killin. “I am running for Congress in CO-05 to bring competence, courage, & character back to Congress.”
Killin is a fourth-generation Colorado native who was raised by two public school educators. According to Killin’s candidacy website, this instilled a belief in the power of education and the importance of public service at a young age. After graduating from Falcon High School, Killin earned a ROTC scholarship and served as a Captain and paratrooper in the U.S. Army, also leading soldiers as a Military Police Officer.
After her military service, Killin earned a law degree at Georgetown and dedicated the next chapter of her career to improving the livelihoods of everyday Americans, military families, and veterans.
“My experiences growing up in Colorado Springs and serving our great country have taught me the importance of principled leadership and hard work,” Killin stated. “As a veteran, public servant, and mom, I understand the challenges Colorado families face every day, as well as the opportunities they rightly want a chance to pursue.”
