DENVER (KDVR) — On Thursday, the Denver Broncos broke ground on a new training facility headquartered in Englewood.
The new training facility will replace the 30-year-old building with a bigger, better model. According to the team, it will be 30% bigger and come with new features like an expanded locker room, sports performance areas and meeting rooms.
The Broncos originally said this project would start at the end of the preseason. With their first game coming up at the start of September, the Broncos are officially getting started on the two-year project that will wrap up in 2026.
While construction is underway, the Broncos will kick off their season on Sept. 8 against the Seattle Seahawks. The following Sunday, Broncos Country can see the team play at Empower Field against the Pittsburgh Steelers and their new quarterback, Russell Wilson.
The team will also be debuting new uniforms, the first redesign since 1997. They announced the Sunset Orange home jersey, Summit White away jersey and the Midnight Navy alternate jersey, along with the “Orange Crush” throwback jersey which will be worn on select games.
Along with the “new” theme, the team is also bringing in quarterbacks Zach Wilson and rookie Bo Nix. The rookie was chosen as the starting quarterback for the season.
There will be a press conference at 9 a.m. for the groundbreaking on the facility. FOX31 will be livestreaming the event, which can be watched in the player above.
