(COLORADO SPRINGS) — On Thursday, Oct. 3 Discovery Canyon Campus (DCC) celebrated the opening of its newest addition, a fieldhouse.

DCC said the fieldhouse is the result of a generous donation from a DCC family who saw the need for indoor sports facilities across Colorado Springs. During Thursday’s ribbon cutting, everyone got to check out the school’s newest building.

“The kids have already been in it. We’ve held classes in here [including] middle school, elementary, and high school classes during the day,” said Ron Sukle, former athletic director of DCC. “Then, we’ve had our sports teams come in during the evenings, so it’s pretty much packed right now just with Discovery Canyon Kids.”

The Discovery Canyon Campus Fieldhouse will be named after Sukle who retired earlier in 2024 after a 17-year career.
