Donald Trump to land in Colorado ahead of rally in Aurora

DENVER (KDVR) — On Friday, former President Donald Trump will fly to Colorado and speak in Aurora during a sold-out event.

The visit comes after Trump said he would come to Aurora during a rally in Uniondale, New York on Sept. 18. While the Republican presidential candidate didn’t arrive within his initial two-week promise, he will be speaking at 1 p.m. on Friday at the Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center.

According to his campaign website, the event is completely sold out, but FOX31 will have multiple reporters at the event and Trump’s remarks will be streamed live in full on KDVR.com and in the FOX31 News App.

Details on Trump’s itinerary when it comes to his arrival and departure have not been released, but the city of Aurora said it’s prepared for his visit.

“We are aware that former President Trump plans to visit Aurora on Friday. The city, including the Aurora Police Department, will work with its partner agencies as requested,” the city said in a statement Monday.

It is unclear what Trump will talk about during his visit, but he has been vocal about the immigration issues in Aurora. He has brought up the topic during rallies and the presidential debate against Vice President Kamala Harris.

Ahead of the rally, FOX31 spoke to some Aurora citizens who are excited about his visit and some who aren’t, but most said they hope their city is represented well. Some residents hope Trump will take a boots-on-the-ground approach and visit problem apartments in the city.

The last time the former president was in Colorado was in August when he visited Aspen for a private fundraiser.
