Downed power poles close Hwy 50 near Fowler

(OTERO COUNTY, Colo.) — The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) reported that Highway 50 is closed between Fowler and Manzanola on Wednesday, July 3, due to multiple power poles down.

Around 6:30 a.m., CSP posted that the downed power lines would cause an extended closure, estimated to be a minimum of 10 hours for safe cleanup. Drivers are advised also to avoid county roads due to flooding and use Highway 96 or Highway 10 instead.

COtrip reports that the closure is between County Road 9.5 and County Road 10, one mile west of Manzanola. The map also indicates flooding on CO 207 that may cause slower speeds into Manzanola.
