Downtown business closures, openings this year

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — 23 businesses have closed in Downtown Colorado Springs this year, though some have been replaced with new businesses thanks to Downtown Development Authority (DDA) grants.

If you felt like a lot of transition happened in the Downtown area in 2024, you’d be correct. 23 businesses closed their doors this year and 29 others opened them. Some of the closures have been attributed to fires, financial strain, legal issues, lasting effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, and more.
