Downtown COS welcomes first and only food truck lot

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — There’s a new addition to the block between Weidner Field and the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Museum, and it is bringing local eats all to one place.

The Lot at Meanwhile Block (MWB) will be the city’s first and only dedicated food truck lot where individuals can enjoy a rotating selection of local food trucks for lunch and dinner. The Lot will be located on the corner of Sierra Madre and West Cimarron Street, at 132 W. Cimarron Street.

The Lot at MWB will officially open on Saturday, March 15, aligning with the Switchbacks FC season opener and the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and 5K. A soft launch is planned for Friday, March 14.

Food trucks will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays with lunch service from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and dinner service from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with plans to expand as the season progresses.

“The city has been waiting for a dedicated food truck lot, and we’re thrilled to bring The Lot to
downtown Colorado Springs,” said Bria Yatsko of Norwood Development Group. “This is just
the beginning of the new activations we plan to introduce at Meanwhile Block this year, as we
continue to build a vibrant, welcoming venue and cultural gathering space within the Park
Union District.”

Individuals will be able to enjoy convenient sitting, shaded areas coming soon, along with music and views of Pikes Peak and downtown Colorado Springs. Check out weekly food truck updates at meanwhileblock.com/contact.
