(RUSH, Colo.) — The Edison Fire Department is hosting the Grand Opening of the new Station 2 at 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, which will include food and fun for the local community.
The station is located at 10095 County Road 3 in Rush and will allow the volunteer firefighters to more effectively serve the citizens of Southeast El Paso County, Northeast Pueblo County, and Southwest Lincoln County. The new station has five apparatus bays, space for meeting and training facilities, and a 30,000-gallon water supply. The facility also increases the department’s Insurance Service Office (ISO) rating, which can have a positive impact on homeowner’s insurance costs in the community.
The open house will offer the community a chance to view the new station while enjoying free hotdogs and hamburgers, a fire pit for smores, a silent auction, activities for kids, and more. Two helicopters will be landing next to the station for viewing as well.
