El Paso County Sheriff’s Office makes arrest in suspicious death of woman

(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) has arrested a man after investigating a suspicious death early on Thursday morning, Aug. 1.

According to EPSO, on Thursday around 2:30 a.m., the EPSO Communication Center received a 911 call requesting a welfare check in the 13000 block of Halleluiah Trail, which is east of Black Forest, near the Meridian Road and Latigo Boulevard intersection.

The caller reported that a woman inside the home was unresponsive, and when medical personnel from the Falcon Fire Department responded, they attempted life-saving measures but were unsuccessful.

“Due to the suspicious nature of the events surrounding the death, detectives responded to investigate,” wrote EPSO. “After conducting numerous interviews, detectives established probable cause to charge 26-year-old Jorge Meza-Alarcon Jr with First-Degree Murder.”
