Ent and Wings Credit Unions to merge, create new union

(COLORADO) — Colorado Springs-based ENT Credit Union and St. Paul, Minnesota’s Wings Credit Union now serve nearly one million members as the credit unions prepare to merge.

The merger, announced on Wednesday, April 23, was unanimously approved by the Board of Directors of each credit union. An agreement for the merger was signed on February 28, 2025.

“As we have continued to expand our footprint across Colorado, we are committed to maintaining our roots of service to ensure great rates, first-in-class mobile banking, and top-notch service,” said Chad Graves, President and CEO of Ent. “We are excited to offer members access to nearly 90 locations in Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. We remain local enough to care about our communities and large enough to offer outstanding experiences, products, and services.”

Members of either credit union will not experience any immediate changes, as the credit unions will operate independently while the merger process goes through regulatory approval and a member vote.

The newly formed merger will be led by Graves and will be called Wings Credit Union.

“With shared roots in aviation, the name Wings Credit Union celebrates our unique legacies and the positive impact ahead. The concepts of ‘Wings’ and flight also have strong connections to the ideas of upward movement, goals, aspirations, and achievement. While our geographic footprint may be different, our values and culture are strongly aligned,” said Frank Weidner, President and CEO of Wings Credit Union.

Together, the credit unions will serve almost a million customers.

“The Ent board has been considering strategic growth opportunities to ensure an even brighter future for our credit union. After meaningful deliberation of the benefit to our members through this merger of equals, the board voted unanimously to move forward. We are excited to leverage our combined strengths to do even more to elevate our service and make a positive difference for our local communities,” said Pam Nicholson, Ent Credit Union board chair.

The newly formed credit union will be legally combined in 2026.
