(EL PASO COUNTY Colo.) — The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) is seeking information on a man who allegedly tried to kidnap a child in Peyton on Friday, June 20.
According to EPSO, between noon and 12:30 p.m. on Friday, a small child was briefly taken in the area of Highway 24 and Bradshaw Road in Peyton. The child managed to escape and was safely reunited with their family, EPSO said.
A person of interest is currently being sought. Deputies are looking for a white man in his 20s or 30s with a thin build and short brownish-red hair. He is approximately 5’7″ tall with no facial hair. The man has tattoos on his arms, but not full sleeves. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt and jeans.
The man was driving a newer white two-door pickup truck with an extended cab and grey and red interior.
