(EL PASO, Colo.) — The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) is accepting applications for its Citizens Academy which begins on Sept. 10 and will be conducted over five weeks.
The free academy will give 40 attendees the chance to ride along with deputies to see first-hand the different calls handled by the Sheriff’s Office, along with a tour of the jail, and a discussion on a variety of other topics that law enforcement faces.
The course will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays for five weeks from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Applications can be found on EPSO’s website, and applicants must pass a background check and the class is limited to 40 people. Applications are due by 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 10, 2024.
