(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo) — The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) said the office’s Special Response Team traveled to Montezuma County in southwestern Colorado to transport a prisoner that EPSO labeled high-risk.
According to EPSO, on Tuesday, Oct. 7, deputies from EPSO, with help from the Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office, conducted a “high-risk” transportation of 39-year-old Cameron B. White. EPSO said White was wanted on a felony warrant in El Paso County and had previously been uncooperative with law enforcement during an earlier transport attempt.
White is facing multiple charges in El Paso County, including Second-Degree Assault, Crimes Against an At-Risk Person, and First-Degree Criminal Trespass.
On Oct. 1, White was arrested by the Cortez Police Department for unrelated charges. EPSO was able to transport White to the El Paso County Jail.
“I want to thank Sheriff Nowlin and his team for their assistance, as well as our Special Response Team members for their collaborative work in ensuring justice for victims across Colorado. Our SRT members once again demonstrated professionalism and expertise in handling what could have been a dangerous situation with precision and care.”
