(COLORADO SPRINGS) — An El Paso County Sheriff’s Deputy was involved in a rollover crash that closed East Woodmen Road on Thursday, March 13.
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), a crash around 4 p.m. at East Woodmen Road and Yellowwood Drive, east of Rangewood Drive, resulted in westbound Woodmen being closed at Rangewood for several hours.
CSPD later posted an update on its blotter, stating that the crash involved a deputy with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, who was responding to a call with lights and sirens activated. After the impact, the other involved car reportedly rolled.
CSPD said one of the drivers was sent to the hospital as a precaution, though it did not specify whether it was the deputy or the other involved driver.
Westbound Woodmen Road remained closed until just before 6:45 p.m. Thursday, CSPD said.
