(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Academy School District 20 (D20) said due to a threat made on social media on Wednesday, Jan. 24, Chinook Trail Middle School will have extra security out of an abundance of caution.

D20 sent an email to parents writing that the school was made aware late Wednesday night that a threat was made on social media to the school. D20, in partnership with the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), investigated the threat and the District wrote that it was business as usual at the school on Thursday, Jan. 25.

D20 further elaborated that out of an abundance of caution, there was additional security at the campus as per standard protocol following all perceived threats.
