(BLACK FOREST, Colo.) — The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) reported that on Friday, Aug. 30, a crash between two vehicles in Black Forest led to the death of a 12-year-old boy.
According to CSP, troopers were notified of a crash at the intersection of Herring Road and Shoup Road around 9 p.m. Friday. Upon arrival, they found that a vehicle on Herring failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with the front right side of a second vehicle traveling on Shoup.
CSPD said the vehicle that failed to stop was driven by a 75-year-old man. The second vehicle was driven by a 50-year-old man, with a 12-year-old boy as a passenger. Both drivers sustained minor injuries. The boy was taken to the hospital but later died from his injuries.
According to CSP neither drugs nor alcohol are suspected as factors at this time.
