(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) tells FOX21 that a crash in the early morning hours of Thursday, Aug. 1 is fatal and police are investigating.

According to CSPD, at around 4:30 a.m. on Thursday southbound lanes of North Academy Boulevard and East Pikes Peak Avenue were closed due to a crash. At around 5:15 a.m. CSPD updated that all southbound lanes from East Bijou Street to E. Pikes Peak Ave. and westbound lanes at E. Pikes Peak Ave. were closed.

CSPD tells FOX21 the crash is fatal and the Major Crash Team is investigating.
