(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — According to the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), a fatal crash closed the southbound lanes of I-25 between Exit 123 near Clear Springs Ranch and Exit 122 near the Pikes Peak International Raceway on Sunday, Sept. 8. A detour is in place, and drivers should avoid the area if possible.

CDOT first reported the crash around 5 a.m. FOX21 News had a crew on the scene and confirmed that the crash was fatal and that at least 13 Law Enforcement Vehicles from the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and Colorado State Patrol, as well as the Fountain Fire Department, have responded.
