(DENVER) — A Colorado Springs man was sentenced to 156 months in federal prison after being found guilty of being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to the US Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado (USAO-Colorado).
On Thursday, Jan. 23, USAO-Colorado reported that the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) located 27-year-old Lemich Riddle on Nov. 1, 2022, and took him into custody on an outstanding warrant as he was driving back to his apartment. In his car, officers found six firearms. Riddle had a prior felony conviction that banned him from having firearms.
“We will always prosecute dangerous felons who possess weapons,” said United States Attorney Matt Kirsch. “This sentence reflects the seriousness of this defendant’s continued violation of the law.”
“CSPD strives for excellence in every investigation, and those around the illegal possession of firearms are no different,” said Colorado Springs Police Chief Adrian Vasquez.
