(COLORADO) — Firefighters responded to a small structure fire at the Renaissance Festival on Sunday night, June 29.
At around 7:23 p.m., fire crews with the Larkspur Fire Protection District were dispatched to a fire at the festival. They found a small fire had occurred in one of the booths, and employees had put it out when personnel arrived.
According to the Larkspur Fire Protection District, there were no injuries; however, one person was assessed and released after inhaling smoke.
Damage was limited to one booth, and fire crews performed “overhaul” on the structure, such as removing drywall or parts of the ceiling to look for hidden pockets of fire, to ensure there was no fire remaining.
“We know fire makes people nervous,” the fire department wrote via Facebook. “It is only a matter of when, not if, wildfire will threaten our area again. Prepare now. Start at your structures and work out from there to reduce/remove flammable materials that can make your home vulnerable during a fire.”
At the moment, the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
