Fire department responds to gas leak in Fountain

(FOUNTAIN, Colo.) — Fountain Middle School is under a shelter-in-place order and two nearby businesses have been evacuated due to a gas leak in Fountain, according to the City of Fountain Fire Department (FFD).

FFD posted to social media just before 11:50 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25 about the gas leak and asked drivers to avoid the area of North Santa Fe Avenue between West Alabama Avenue and Mount View Lane as crews respond.

Crews were first called to the incident around 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday after an outside gas leak was reported at 474 N. Santa Fe Ave.

FFD expects Santa Fe Ave. to be closed for up to two hours. According to FFD, there have been no injuries reported.
