(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Whiskey Rose officially kicked off the spring concert season during its grand opening on Thursday, March 20. The new country music venue is located at 5781 North Academy Boulevard in the former space of The Whiskey Baron.

The grand opening celebration featured live music from Bryan Martin as eager fans lined up to get a first look at the new space.

“I have followed him for years, long before his big song, “We Ride.” We follow all types of music and country music; Outlaw Country, that’s my favorite,” said Brian Ferriter, the first person in line at the Whiskey Rose grand opening.

Those who head out to enjoy the Whiskey Rose can enjoy dancing, delicious food, and drinks, or they can take a spin on the mechanical bull like FOX21’s Reporter and Anchor tried out on Thursday night.

“I hope, first and foremost, that they come in and feel that this is a very friendly place,” said Jenny Arnold, General Manager at the Whiskey Rose. “Something that we pride ourselves on at the Grizzly Rose in Denver is those smiling faces and great customer service, plus just a welcoming environment, and so, I hope that’s the first thing they feel, and think, ‘Oh my gosh, this is going to be great.'”

An instrumental part of the Whiskey Rose’s mission is to offer live music every night it’s open, a cherished tradition from the Grizzly Rose that the founders are excited to bring to Colorado Springs.

“One of the things that we hope, is that we can work with ourselves out of Denver to route some of those bands down here, which is a great way to support that cause of live music,” Arnold said.

The Whiskey Rose will be open Wednesday through Sunday. Thursday nights are Ladies’ Night–well drinks are on the house for ladies 21+ from 8 p.m. to midnight. All concert nights are 18 and up. Sundays at the venue will be all-ages Family Nights.
