(COLORADO SPRINGS) — An event funded by the Pikes Peak Area Rotary Club is giving first responders the tools they need to help others facing a mental health crisis.
On Saturday, Jan. 25, 150 first responders in Colorado Springs got this training. The training covered topics like depression, anxiety, suicide prevention, and substance use disorders. Attendees were given the chance for hands-on practice in managing a mental health crisis.
Pikes Peak Area Rotary Club said mental health is just as important as physical health, and giving members of the community the skills to provide early intervention can make all the difference in someone’s life.
