(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A former Cheyenne Mountain High School employee has been found guilty of sexual assault of a child and will be sentenced on Oct. 1.
According to court records, in July, 50-year-old Marco Lara was found guilty of sexual assault of a child-pattern of abuse, sexual assault of a child, and sexual assault of a child by one in a position of trust. Lara was reportedly a former employee of Cheyenne Mountain High School.
The original investigation by the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) revealed that Lara had engaged in a sexual relationship with a minor. He was arrested on Dec. 28, 2023.

Lara will be in El Paso County Court on Wednesday, Oct. 1 for a sentencing hearing.
