(PUEBLO, Colo.) — Drive Smart Pueblo, in partnership with local and state law enforcement agencies, will conduct free car seat checks on Saturday, March 1.
On Saturday, Child Passenger Safety Technicians will be offering free car seat checks at the Pueblo Fire Station #4 located at 2201 Lake Avenue. This effort is a partnership between Drive Smart Pueblo, the Pueblo Police Department (PPD), the Pueblo Fire Department (PFD), and the Colorado State Patrol (CSP).
A certified Child Passenger Safety Technician can put parents’ minds at ease by discussing and showing parents how to correctly install the right seat in their car. For every age and development stage, there is a correct seat. Children should stay in a seat and position until they outgrow those limits, and it’s important for all children to ride in the backseat.
During the event, technicians will check car seats, let caregivers know if their children are in the right seats for their ages, and sizes, and show them how to install the right seats correctly.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Individuals who like to have a seat inspected outside of Saturday’s event, can call PPD at (719) 553-2502 or CSP at (719) 288-2636 to make an appointment at a Fit Station throughout the community.
