(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Human Trafficking Task Force of Southern Colorado will host its monthly meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 14. This meeting will feature Jason Frazier, Executive Director of the Bakhita Mountain Home. He joined FOX21 Morning News on Monday, Oct. 13, to talk about what he plans to discuss.
The Bakhita Mountain Home is a residential treatment facility for survivors of human trafficking. “We’re a two-year program,” said Frazier. “When women get out of their trafficking situation, they can come and have a safe place to live, which is the most important thing.” The Bakhita Mountain Home then helps set them up for success and helps connect them to services.
Frazier said the home can hold five people at a time, but they receive five to 10 referrals a week from across the country.
The Human Trafficking Task Force meetings are open to the public and free to attend. They are held every second Tuesday of the month at 5:45 p.m. at Reclaiming Hope at 615 Wooten Road, Suite 140, in Colorado Springs.
