Free virtual book club launched by US Olympic and Paralympic Museum

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The United States Olympic and Paralympic Museum is launching a free program that brings sports fans, book lovers, and museum supporters together with Olympians and Paralympians to explore their personal stories through literature.

The museum is launching Legacy Library: Virtual Book Club, a program that meets quarterly and features a book authored by an Olympian or Paralympian.

“Legacy Library: Virtual Book Club expands the Museum’s reach beyond our physical space, giving audiences across the country the chance to connect with Olympians and Paralympians in a personal way,” said Marisa Wigglesworth, CEO of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum. “These books offer firsthand perspectives on perseverance, dedication, and resilience, making for inspiring and engaging discussions.”

Each athlete explores their personal stories through literature. Participants will gain exclusive insights into the athletes’ journeys, challenges, and triumphs while engaging in meaningful conversations about their books. According to the museum, each book club will culminate in a live Zoom discussion with the athlete, moderated by four-time Olympian and avid reader Kara Winger.
