(FREMONT COUNTY, Colo.) — A wanted fugitive was arrested in Fremont County on Thursday, April 24, after eluding law enforcement for weeks.
According to the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO), shortly before 5 p.m. on Thursday, deputies spotted a car associated with 38-year-old Jesse Weaver, who was wanted on numerous warrants including domestic violence and obstructing a police officer.
FCSO said deputies and detectives followed Weaver, with assistance from the Cañon City Police Department. Weaver was positively identified and taken into custody without incident. FCSO said Weaver was suspected to have eluded deputies multiple times over the last several weeks.
Weaver is set to be booked on the following warrants for his arrest:
Cañon City Police Department: Felony domestic violence, second degree assault, stalking, criminal mischief, reckless driving
Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office: Flight, escape
Canon City Police Department: Failure to comply, controlled substance possession
Fremont County Sheriff’s Office: Obstructing a police officer, failure to display proof of insurance, driving under revocation, vehicular eluding, fictitious plates
Department of Corrections: Parole violation, burglary
Weaver is due in Fremont County Court on April 29.
