Gates reopen at Peterson SFB after security incident

(PETERSON SPACE FORCE BASE, Colo.) — The gates at Peterson Space Force Base (SFB) were briefly closed due to a security threat on Thursday, June 12, according to the Public Affairs Office at Peterson SFB.

The gates were closed at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday and opened up a short time later at 12:25 p.m. when the incident was resolved.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) has taken over the investigation. EPSO told FOX21 that a person was in custody, and there is no threat to the community.
