Give! campaign reaches its final push

(COLORADO SPRINGS)– The holidays are notorious for offering a helping hand, one local non-profit in the Pikes Peak region is asking for donations to meet their community goal.

“Our goal is 1.2 million and we’re a little bit behind on that right now,” said Victoria Norton the executive director of Give!

This year’s Give! campaign is underway in the Pikes Peak region, and they need help meeting their 2024 goal. “So, we would love the support of our community to get us across the finish line,” said Norton.

They say they a just under five hundred thousand dollars short. “We just have a couple of days left to raise money for our nonprofits,” she added.

The annual fundraiser helps highlight and raise money for non-profits throughout the region. “We have 11 different categories of nonprofits that we work with, so you can go to the website, learn about the work that they do, and you can donate to multiple nonprofits in one transaction,” said Norton.

The campaign raises money for 65 local non-profit organizations.

“Our goal is to inspire philanthropy in our community and to support our local nonprofit community. We partner with local nonprofits who make an impact right here where we live, and we give them a year in fund raising platform that they can use, she said.

Norton says size doesn’t matter. “There’s no specific requirement of how big you have to be as a nonprofit. We have little ones, we have really big ones,” said Norton. She says the average donation size is around one-hundred thirty-five dollars, but they say anything helps.

“One of the things that we really I believe in, is investing in the next generation of philanthropists. So, sometimes we have this idea that philanthropy is done by people who are billionaires,” said Norton.
