(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Several road closures are in place due to a grass fire near the Valley Hi Golf Course on Monday, June 17.

According to the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD), crews arrived on the scene of the fire around 3:40 p.m. on Monday near Valley Hi Avenue and South Chelton Road in southeast Colorado Springs.

CSFD is asking people to avoid the area, and according to the Colorado Springs Police & Fire Communications Center, the following roads are closed:

Northbound lanes of Chelton Rd. at Valley Hi Ave.

Southbound lanes of Chelton Rd. at Mallard Drive
