(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Food is medicine, or at least it can be. Chef Janon Bourgeois, a local chef and culinary instructor, joined FOX21 Morning News on Wednesday, April 23, with tips on how to use food to help healing. Below are her recipes for “Pick Me Up Popcorn” and a “Protein Packed Plate.”
Pick Me Up Popcorn
Savory: Sage, Thyme, Oregano
Sweet: Cinnamon, Ginger, Nutmet
Spicy/Sweet: Cumin, Coriander, Cayenne
Protein Packed Plate
1 cup cooked Quinoa (8g of protein)
1/2 cup Curry Spiced Cashews sauteed in Butter (approx. 12g of protein)
1/2 cup Plain Yogurt (approx. 12g of protein)
2 cups Soft Greens like Baby Spinach and Spring Chard (approx. 5g of protein)
