Highway 24 down to one westbound lane due to crash

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Cimarron Hills Fire Department (CHFD) is currently responding to a car crash on Highway 24.

At around 7 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4, CFHD responded to a two-vehicle crash on Highway 24 and Newt Drive, near Highway 94. The fire department reported that they were working on freeing a trapped party, and both vehicles had heavy damage from the crash. At that time, all westbound lanes of Highway 24 were closed.

At 8:29 a.m., CHFD reported it was still on the scene of the crash at Highway 24 and Newt Drive and was waiting for the vehicles to be towed. One westbound lane has been reopened.

Individuals are advised to exercise caution and lower speeds if they are driving through the area.
