(SOUTHERN COLORADO) — There is a new feature on Google that allows users to prioritize the news outlets they trust in Southern Colorado, including local stations like FOX21 News in Colorado Springs.
Users can select their favorite sites through Google’s “preferred sources,” and by doing so, content from their chosen sites will appear more often in their “top stories” section.
How to select FOX21 News as a preferred source on Google
First, log in to your Google account.
Option 1: Click here to add “FOX21News.com” as a preferred source. It will look like the image below. Click the box next to our site, and a blue checkmark (as seen below) will appear.
Option 2: Search “FOX21 News” in Google, and click on the icon to the right of ‘Top stories.’ Next, a ‘preferred sources’ tab will pop up, and you can simply type “FOX21 News” into the search bar. To add FOX21 News as a preferred source, click the box to the right of our website, and a blue checkmark will appear.
Once you have selected FOX21 News as your preferred source on Google, the next time you search a topic and it appears in ‘Top stories,’ you can click ‘more news,’ and additional articles from our site will be listed and available for you to browse.
Users can update their preferred sources at any time, and by setting these, it won’t block everything else. Users will still be able to see articles from other sites and can update their preferred sources as often as they’d like.
