HSPPR’s Pet Portraits returns with new name

(PIKES PEAK REGION, Colo.) — The Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR) said it is bringing back a fan-favorite fundraiser with a new name.

Previously known as Poorly Portrayed Pet Portraits, the new fundraiser is known as Pet Portraits. HSPPR said it dropped the Poorly because for 2025, it has “recruited an elite squad of very serious, very passionate, very small artists” from HSPPR’s Creative Critters Summer Camp.

HSPPR said for $25, you can commission them to create a custom portrait of your pet. How it works is you submit a photo of your pet, then one of HSPPR’s artists makes a one-of-a-kind portrait for you, and HSPPR will let you know when your portrait is available for pickup.

HSPPR then jokingly elaborated that in 20 years, the artist who created your portrait will become a world-renowned artist with a solo exhibit at the Guggenheim, you will donate your pet portrait for the exhibit, where it will get stolen in an international art heist, it will be recovered in a Dubai penthouse and Sydney Sweeney will play you in the Oscar-winning movie adaptaion.

HSPPR said every dollar will go towards its Youth Education Programs. There are only 100 spots available.
